
Power Seal Technology in the Max range allows the batteries to hold power for up to 10 years. In comparison, Energizer batteries use: Power seal technology. The company recommends storing batteries out of the device, but what the heck is a clock without batteries, of a flashlight you have to fumble around in the dark installing batteries into in an emergency? Your call, but I'm through with them. When it comes to rechargeable batteries, Duracell batteries use Ion Core Technology, which allows for a longer-lasting charge. Used to be the batteries would die (obvious, the clock stops) and you put new ones in, done! Every time the clock stops its due to corrosion, and the pull by date is still 6-8 years in the future! Don't bother with these, they are destructive in every way. The chemical combination that powers batteries will build up until the case leaks or implodes. We are talking clocks, something that has to have batteries in it to function. All batteries are capable of leaking when left in a device or expired. Once upon a time, they made an excellent battery. Duracell manufactures and supplies alkaline batteries including but not limited to all-purpose, rechargeable, hearing aid, specialty batteries, camera, and auto and marine batteries. I have 4 brand new 20 packs of AAA batteries with a best by date. Even leaking in the original package in a storage drawer. I have experienced numerous leaking Duracell batteries well before their expiration dates. Lately Ive had a rash of failures in AA and AAA. Duracell’s latest safety features help keep children safe.

To their credit, and my time consumed to do so, they did pay for replacement devices for those that are still availible, but many of the items are one of a kind hand made clocks with electric movements. 1 Has anyone else had trouble with leaky Duracell coppertop batteries.


Virtually every device I have put them into in the last few years has been damaged by leaking acid (I made the mistake of buying the large quantity pack, and attempted to use them up). I have used Duracell batteries in a variety of devices for years, but no more.
